About Glow & Grow
Glow & Grow is a student-led community project starting in Orange County. The program centers Chinese, Chinese American, new immigrant, international student background, and cross-cultural teen girls who are learning how to express themselves while adapting to school and community life in the United States.
The goal is not to teach one correct look or create a closed group. The goal is to help each participant feel respected, learn practical skills, meet supportive peers, and become more comfortable trying new things. Students from other backgrounds are welcome when they respect the space and the cultural experiences it centers.
Makeup Guide
Wash hands, tie hair back, moisturize, and start with clean tools.
Use a small amount only where needed. Blend gently and build slowly.
Optional. Keep it light and use a sponge or brush with clean technique.
Use soft placement and blend well. The goal is dimension, not sharp lines.
Start with simple shadow, then optional eyeliner if it feels comfortable.
Add blush and lip color with clean, individual tools. Skip any step anytime.
Brush Care Guide
Wipe handles, let brushes air out, and keep used sponges separate until washed.
Use gentle soap, rinse until water runs clear, and avoid soaking the handle.
Lay brushes flat on a clean towel with bristles hanging slightly over the edge.
Replace sponges that tear, smell different, or no longer rinse clean.
Product Recommendations
The first version of this section focuses on product selection principles instead of fixed brand lists, so the page can stay useful as budgets, skin needs, and availability change.
